Columbus Food Adventures runs guided food tours in Columbus, Ohio. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and who else sees it. It covers columbusfoodadventures.com. It does not cover the other companies we send you to, such as our booking system, and those have their own policies.

What you give us directly

• Enquiry forms. Our contact, private events and corporate group forms ask for your name, email address, phone number and whatever you write in the message. Alongside that we record the IP address, browser user agent and referring page the submission came from, which is how we tell real enquiries from automated spam.
• The mailing list. If you sign up, your email address goes to Mailchimp, who send our newsletter for us. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• Bookings. Tour bookings are taken by FareHarbor, not by this website. What you enter at checkout, including payment details, goes to them. We never see or store your card number.

What is collected automatically

Like most websites, this one uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how it is being used and to measure our advertising.

• Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_CL2X0FWXGW to count visits and see which pages people use. This is measurement, not advertising.
• The Meta pixel sets _fbp. It tells us whether our Facebook and Instagram advertising is working, and it lets Meta show our ads to people who have visited the site.
• Cloudflare Turnstile runs on our forms to block automated submissions.
• FareHarbor sets its own cookies where its booking window appears.

These are set when you arrive. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner, because this site is aimed at visitors to Columbus, Ohio rather than at people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of this business for us:

• FareHarbor, for taking bookings and payments
• HoneyBook, where private event and corporate enquiries land so we can reply to them
• Mailchimp, for the mailing list
• Netlify, who host this website and hold form submissions
• Google and Meta, for the measurement and advertising described above
• Cloudflare, for spam protection on forms

We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while we are talking to you and for as long afterwards as we may need them for our records. Mailing list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept according to Google's retention settings for our account. If you want your information removed, email us and we will do it.

Your choices

• Your browser can block or delete cookies. Doing so will not stop you booking a tour.
• Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across every site that uses it.
• Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
• Email us at info@columbusfoodadventures.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.

If you live in California

California residents may ask what categories of personal information we have collected, ask us to delete it, and ask us not to sell or share it. We do not sell personal information. Using the Meta pixel may count as sharing it for advertising purposes under California law, and you can stop that by blocking cookies in your browser or by emailing us. We will not treat you differently for asking. Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal, and this site does not currently respond to it.

Children

This website is meant for adults booking tours. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
